Membership

The Tasmanian Association for the Teaching of English (TATE) is a membership organisation committed to the on-going professional development of all those interested in English teaching. Our members include educators from primary, secondary and tertiary institutions working in the State, Independent and Catholic systems. TATE provides strong leadership in the area of English teaching, language learning and literacy development. We promote the interests of all English educators in the State.

Individual and Student Membership Benefits:

• automatic membership of the Australian Association for the Teaching of English
• three issues of both the TATE Newsletter and English in Australia, the AATE journal
• discounts on registration fees at State and National Conferences
• access to AATE publications, including discounts on multiple copies of anthologies and resource material
• regular opportunities to meet with other English teachers to exchange ideas, discuss developments in the teaching of English and find out about new resources
• regular opportunities for local professional development
• opportunities to meet with authors and illustrators

Corporate A, Corporate B or Corporate C Membership Benefits:

• as for individual and student membership plus
• Corporate A membership includes one copy of English in Australia, Corporate B two copies and Corporate C three copies
• all members of staff can attend State and National Conferences at the member rate
